The children are supposed to finish their homework before 12 o'clock.被动语态就是动作的发出者是被要求发出这个动作的,例如在本句中孩子是动作的发出者,而做作业是动作,但是做作业是孩子们被要求的,于是他们之间就构成了被动语态的关系.被动语态的基本结构就是be done,也就是在动词前面加上be 动词,而把实意动词改为完成时.在本句中be动词时are 而实意动词是finish 根据结构,应该把finish改为finished ,其他的直接翻译就可以了.而且在被动语态的句子中,时态是体现在be上面的,如果要把这句话改为过去时的话,那就把are 改为were 就行了.
The children were supposed to finish their homework before 12 o'clock
The children is required to finish the composition before 12:00
被动语态：
即 be 动词+ 动词的过去分词
eg The bridge was built last year
这座桥是去年建造的。 （桥是被造的，故用被动语态）
