cavitation,three pulses of 5 s at 90W.After centrifugation at
19 000 g,supernatants were collected and used as a source
of enzymes.Cyanase activity was assayed by a modified
method described previously [15].β-Cyanoalanine nitrilase
activity was assayed at 35◦C in the presence of 10 mM
β-cyanoalanine,50 mM Tris/HCl buffer (pH 8.5) and the
appropriate amount of enzyme.Samples were collected at
various times and ammonium production was determined as
