There are many traditions on Christmas in western countries. Almost every family has a Christmas tree, which is decorated with small toys and beautiful ornaments, like white angles, colorful shining glass balls, paper stars and tiny candles. People put gifts under the tree. And on Christmas Eve they gather around the tree and share the gifts.
People also put on the red Christmas hats, with a small white hairy ball on the end, like the one St. Claus always has. Children hang big socks at the windows or doors, so that when St. Claus comes, he can put the gifts for them into these socks. Actually it is their parents who fill these socks with nice gifts.
